How to Make Stones Work
There are rocks and stones all over my house. When you walk in they are interlaced between other useful things. I like rocks, I use rocks, I hold rocks, I pick rocks. Why do I do this? Because rocks connect me to mother earth, have a calming effect, can amplify a feeling, and are pretty! So how do I make them work? The first step I take is to “tune-in” to myself, get quiet and I close my eyes. When I hold the rock, I ask myself what do I see, feel, or hear? If my head tingles, then I know it’s potentially a good choice. Then I wash it. This is the process – I let the water run and run over the stone, and I may soak it in salt water. It just depends on what I feel about the rock, or what I might see. This is where I start.
Now I would like to share some general guidelines on how to make the stone work for you. Have a notebook and pen or pencil handy and with you as you work.
Your rock should be easy to handle and use – not too big and heavy. You need to be able to pick it up and use it easily. Use your intuition (everyone has intuition) to choose your stone, and ideally it would be great to have several to choose from. Pick up the stone and take a deep breath to relax. Think of a question you want answered. If you can, be in your meditation spot or a quiet place. Relax your body and clear your mind of all thoughts. In silence call in your guardian angel to be with you. Think about the question and ask it clearly in your mind or ask the question out loud. As you are holding the stone you can keep your eyes closed or slightly open to see any images that appear. Think about the question you want answered. Just hold it and feel what you are feeling. Go with that feeling, or the image, knowing that it’s all about the question you asked. Then trust what you see, hear, or feel. As soon as you get an image or a word or a sound write it down in your notebook, or on a piece of paper. Repeat this each time something comes to you. Draw pictures, write down words or sounds or whatever comes to you. You will be using these later to compare.
A lot of times I get a motion picture scene and I write that down. I know I decipher it later. It may be something random which will lead me to the answer. For example, if I see myself driving to a site where I could do some hiking, I will just let the images flow and see what I see. I write that down or draw it. If I hear loud noises, I go with those and see where it takes me. I keep track of this in my notebook. If I find myself inside of a movie that I have seen before, I write it down so I can watch it again later. After I have watched it again, there is always an answer which relates to my question. If the rock took me to a random image or images, I meditate on that until an answer comes through. I immediately draw and write what I get. It might take a few times, but you must trust the answer you receive. What works best is to turn the stone over and over so the energy can work.
Now, go back to your results of what you received. Take all your notes and write your question where your notes and pictures are. Think about each image or answer you got and ask the question again of each image or sound.
Think about these questions as you analyze your answers:
1. How does this image or word apply to my question? Is there an answer there?
2. What could the picture indicate to me in answer to my question?
3. Did I compare the images, feelings, or connections all together?
Let your mind weave a solution and be patient and trust yourself. Use your imagination and study your pictures.
Let your mind wander as to how this applies to your question. The more pictures and words you have, the more obvious the answer becomes. All the pieces of the picture word puzzle will come together.
Give it a try! Make it personal to you and keep going with questions. Be open to receive the answers.
Blessings to you.
