Einstein Summary

Albert Einstein has impacted the world in so many different ways.  He wasn’t just a physicist, his theories and philosophies on the different aspects of the world have opened so many of our eyes. You gain a lot of wisdom just from reading some of the things he's said and by studying who he really was. My favorite Einstein book is called The World As I See It, by Albert Einstein.  We must be grateful that we can still study the things he said so many years after his time.

Just in case you didn’t know, Albert Einstein was a German-born theoretical physicist. He later moved to Switzerland, and he is widely acknowledged to be one of the greatest and most influential physicists of all time. He did so many things that others couldn’t do and wouldn’t do.  He was and still is a guru so to speak.  He used mathematical models and abstractions of physical objects to rationalize and predict natural phenomena. He just did not give up, every time he failed, he kept going with a determination that was boundless. I think of how Einstein developed the theory of relativity, both special and general relativity.  The general relativity is the most known of the two, as it directly relates to the theory of gravity, and the ‘special’ is all things without gravity! Simple huh? It’s all relative!

The World As I See It was published in 1935 by John Land, and written by Albert Einstein earlier than that.  It’s about a lot of things, but to keep it simple, it’s about the purpose of the existence of us humans.  He felt that us humans were created for each other and we are dependent on each other.  He says and explains how he believes in simple living and a simple way of life. He talks about freedom, he definitely believed in freedom, but not unlimited freedom, and he goes on to explain this.  He talks about his ideas and goals in life, #1 Truth, #2 Goodness, #3 Beauty.  He talks about democracy and how he has always favored peace over any war.

He goes on to say that he loves to solve the mysteries of the Universe, so he worked to solve all mysteries.  Einstein believed he was very grateful to live a good lie, and that gratitude for life is very important, he said, “This life which seems so fair, is like a bubble blown up in air.”

This book is thought-provoking, and he was really a great man. He had a profound love for humanity and knowledge. He was a keen observer, had great wisdom and great insight.  He always kept going.

Thanks for reading, Annette
